Antioxidants

Antioxidants can prevent or slow damage to cells caused by free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can damage cells, proteins, and DNA in the body. Antioxidants neutralize free radicals, making them less harmful to our cells. They do this by donating electrons to the free radicals, stabilizing them and stopping them from causing damage. Antioxidants can be found in many foods, including fruits, vegetables, nuts, and whole grains. Some common antioxidants include vitamins C, E, beta-carotene, and selenium. Antioxidants play a crucial role in preventing and managing various health conditions, including heart disease, cancer, and cognitive decline, by protecting our cells from damage caused by free radicals.
